Paula began her PhD journey at the Artis Lab in November 2023, returning to her hometown of Vienna after an academic tour-du-monde. As part of the Unlocking the Muse team, she investigates the intersection of neuropharmacology and artistic expression in the context of Parkinson’s disease. Central to her research are anti-parkinsonian drugs and their impact on the creative brain, the role of dopamine - and the question of what makes an artist. She also explores this question as a painter and photographer in her artistic work.
